About Me.
I’ve had a varied career as a tech leader across global corporates and start-ups. I’ve lived in the US and Spain and have a successful consulting company in the UK.
And yet I never really had a clear view of why I did my work each day. I moved from one job to another as opportunities popped up without much thought; I was fine just so long as I liked the people I worked with, was kept busy and could pay the bills.
Then life shifted, I was widowed unexpectedly and given a harsh reminder that life is fragile and our time here is precious.
I realised I wanted to be more purposeful in how I spent my time. I didn’t want to return to an all-consuming role. Instead, I looked for opportunities aligned to my values that would use my strengths in ways I found energising and engaging. Through career counselling I gained clarity and figured out my direction.
Professional training as a licensed career counsellor and establishing a coaching practice followed; alongside post-graduate studies in psychology. I also reconnected with my local community through becoming an adviser at Citizens Advice and an ambassador for our local hospice. I’ve been able to prioritise my family and friends, build a coaching business, contribute locally and continue consulting.
I set up Reddast Coaching to empower you to reclaim your life and find a fulfilling career.
Jenny.
What’s in the name?
The word Reddast comes from the Icelandic saying “Þetta Reddast”, meaning that everything will work out fine. The Icelandic people have an uplifting combination of optimism, pragmatism and stoicism. Living in an unpredictable landscape, they have an unrelentingly belief that no matter how big a problem, the solution will always present itself. It’s an ethos that runs through how we work with you at Reddast Coaching.
